The Psion Organiser was developed for the business person in mind as a small pocket computer in the mid 1980's which fittted into a suit pocket. the power came from a standard square 9V battery and would last for months under normal use.
the applications came from such programs as a calculator, a diary, timekeeping, alarms, etc. Unlike modern handhelds, even programming is easy with OPL, which is a language quite similar to BASIC. The Organiser had the ability to save/retrieve data
It was made from the mid eighties to early nineties, and over 500,000 of them were produced. A lot businesses are still using them everyday.

derived from the BASIC, also possible programming out of assembler
Audio
The audio came from the built in Piezo electric sounder which was capable of 300Hz to 10 KHz tones of 1 msrc to 30 seconds duration under software control from the built in programming alnguage opl.
